ScienceGuru Edu Terms of Service

Effective / version: 2026-10-11

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and AutoTrust AI Pte. Ltd. ("AutoTrust", "we", "us") and govern your use of the ScienceGuru Edu desktop application, the ScienceGuru Edu account service, the model gateway and any related services (together, the "Service").

ScienceGuru Edu is provided free of charge. In exchange, the research record you produce while using it — your conversations, model requests and replies, tool outputs, file edits, workspace snapshots and experiment artifacts — is uploaded to and retained by AutoTrust and used as described in Section 5 and in the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to this, do not use the Service.

By creating an account, accepting these Terms in the application, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference.

1. Who may use the Service

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to form a binding contract. If you use the Service on behalf of an institution (a university, laboratory or company), you represent that you are authorised to bind it, and "you" includes that institution.

Access is by invitation or by an email address at a domain your institution's administrator has allowed. Your administrator may see your usage, enable or disable your account, and act on your account as described in Section 10.

2. Your account

You are responsible for everything that happens under your account and for keeping your password, invitation code and any sign-in identity (Google, GitHub) secure. Tell your administrator at once if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

One desktop at a time: a new desktop sign-in ends the previous desktop session. Accounts may not be shared, sold or transferred.

3. The Service

The Service lets you work with AI models and agents on research tasks: writing, coding, running experiments, reading literature and managing a workspace on your computer or a remote machine you connect. Models are served either through AutoTrust's gateway under your account's allowance ("account models") or through providers you connect yourself with your own subscription or API key ("your providers", Section 6).

We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the Service, or the models offered, at any time. We will try to give notice of changes that materially reduce the Service.

4. Content

"Input" is anything you provide to the Service: prompts, files, code, data, messages and the state of your workspace. "Output" is what the Service produces in response: model replies, generated code, documents, figures and files. Input and Output together are "Content".

As between you and AutoTrust, you retain any rights you hold in your Input, and we assign to you our rights, if any, in Output. You are responsible for Content, including making sure you have the rights needed to provide the Input and that your use of Output complies with law, your institution's rules and any third-party terms.

Output may be inaccurate, incomplete or similar to Output given to other users. You must evaluate Output for your purpose and must not rely on it as professional, medical, legal or financial advice.

5. Our use of your Content and the research record

This is the core of the bargain. While you use the Service, the application records the complete research process and uploads it to AutoTrust: every request sent to a model and every reply, including retries; every tool the assistant runs with its inputs and complete outputs; the before-and-after content of files it edits; snapshots of your project's code and environment at the start, at key steps and at the end; experiment artifacts such as scripts, data, figures, logs and models; your conversations, project names and which models or providers you used (together, the "Research Record").

You grant AutoTrust a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process, analyse and create derivative works from the Research Record and other Content, and to use them to: provide, maintain and secure the Service; train, fine-tune and evaluate AI models and agents; study how research is conducted with AI; build datasets, benchmarks and publications (de-identified where practicable); and comply with law. This licence survives termination of your account.

Uploads run in the background, continue after you reconnect from being offline, and cannot be turned off while you use the Service. Your administrator can see per-account totals of what has been retained; AutoTrust staff with a need to know can access the contents.

You must not put into the Service any Content you are not permitted to share with AutoTrust on these terms — for example, data under a confidentiality agreement that forbids it, personal data of others without a lawful basis, or material subject to export control.

6. Providers you connect yourself

You may connect your own model providers — a ChatGPT, Claude or GitHub Copilot subscription, a GLM or Kimi coding plan, or an API key — through the application. Your use of those providers is governed by their own terms, and you are responsible for complying with them (for example, subscription plans typically forbid automated or batch use; the application enforces some of these rules).

The credentials for your providers (API keys, OAuth tokens) are stored only on your computer and are removed from the Research Record before upload. AutoTrust does not receive them, does not pay for or control your usage with those providers, and is not responsible for their availability, output or billing. Requests to your providers go from your computer directly to the provider.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

8. Intellectual property

The Service, its software, models, interfaces and documentation are owned by AutoTrust or its licensors and protected by intellectual-property law. These Terms grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the application for your research during the term of your account. Open-source components included in the application remain under their own licences.

If you send us feedback, you grant us the right to use it without restriction or compensation.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE AND ALL OUTPUT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY OR UNINTERRUPTED OPERATION. AI output can be wrong. You use it at your own risk and are responsible for verifying it before relying on it, publishing it or acting on it.

10. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by signing out and asking your administrator to disable the account. Your administrator or AutoTrust may suspend or terminate your access at any time, with or without notice, including for breach of these Terms, at the end of a course or programme, or when the Service is discontinued.

Termination ends your right to use the Service. It does not end the licence in Section 5: the Research Record already uploaded is retained and may continue to be used as described. Where law gives you a right to deletion, Section 7 of the Privacy Policy explains how to exercise it and its limits.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AUTOTRUST, ITS AFFILIATES, LICENSORS AND PROVIDERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, RESEARCH RESULTS OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND SGD 100. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limits, in which case they apply to the extent permitted.

12. Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify AutoTrust against claims arising from your Input, your use of Output, your breach of these Terms or your violation of law or third-party rights, to the extent permitted by law.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we do, the version date changes and the application asks you to accept the new version before you continue. Continued use after acceptance is agreement to the updated Terms. If you do not accept, you may decline, which signs you out; the licence over Content already uploaded under earlier versions is unaffected.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be resolved in the courts of Singapore, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any competent court. Where mandatory consumer law of your place of residence gives you additional rights, nothing here limits them.

15. General

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and AutoTrust about the Service. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to an affiliate or successor. Sections 4, 5, 8, 9, 11, 12 and 14 survive termination.
